There are different factor that affect teaching and these factors can be categorized under five heads and these are factors related to Teacher, Learner, Support material, Instructional facilities, Learning environment and institution. Lets discuss these factors in detail.


Teacher Attitude

Teacher is an art and quality of teaching depends on the dedication, love and devotion of the teacher towards the subject.
  • Teacher's lack of confidence due to poor conceptual clarity may severely affect teaching.
  • To make teaching effective and productive following attitudes can be developed by a teacher.
  • Physical, mental and emotional aspects should be given adequate weightage in developing teacher's attitude.

Learner's attitude affect teaching-learning process in a number of ways. Disturbing or nagative attitude of pupils interrupts the learning process. For creating a lively teaching environment learners participative attitude is a must. Qualities and Traits of learners such as their level of itelligence, their attitudes, their motivation, their learning styles, aptitudes, their readiness to take risks, etc. can impact the way they learn.








Support Material                                                                                                                  

Support material is very essential which affects teaching - learning process. It is an important resource in teaching. Support material includes - textbook, magazines, journals, periodicals, practice questions, teacher solution manual etc.  The support materials aim to support teachers and students in achieving the learning outcomes of any subject.

Learning and teaching support materials ( LTSM ) means a variety of learning and teaching materials used in classroom. These range from teacher's and learner's created resources to commercially produced classroom resources such as wall charts, workbooks, textbooks, e-books, readers, stationery, science kits, dictionaries, encyclopredias etc.

Instructional Facilities                                                                                                         

Instructional facilities that assist an instructor in the teaching-learning process. They supplement teaching methods and are themselves not as self-supporting as teaching methods. Instructional facilities plays a great role in effective teaching learning process.

The teaching instructional facilities include T.V., Radio, Tape Recorders, projectors, film strips, internet and so on.

Institutional or Administrative set up                                                                                 

Administrative set-up with variety and feedom of choice to the teacher generates a healthy teaching environment. Teachers are free to prepare their lesson plan and use variety of teaching aids.

In teaching process administrative discipline of institution should be followed while the administrative presure should be avoided. Administrative set-up of institutions should be designed in such a manner so that balance of relationship between the teacher - student.
